Podcasts to Learn Spanish:
Why is it a good idea?
Here is a list of some of its greatest advantages:
- You decide when and where you are going to learn Spanish.
- You can repeat, rewind, stop, or move forward at your convenience. In other words, you are in control.
- The audios are available for free.
- It is a lot more flexible than a course you have to pay for because there is no commitment. If you do not like a podcast, you may stop listening to it anytime without having to give an explanation or losing money. Just look for another podcast you like to learn Spanish with.
- Most of the podcasts have been produced by a native speaker. Even if he or she is not a good teacher, you can listen to a person who speaks Spanish well.
Podcasts to Learn Spanish:
- Check the number of episodes it offers. If you see only 10 or 15, most likely it is a podcast that only tries to lure you into buying something.
- After you have listened to a couple of episodes, ask yourself: What have I learnt? Can I use what I have learnt?
- Make sure you are not wasting your time. The person may be funny, but if he or she is not teaching anything practical, you are not learning much.
- Be active. Does the podcast involve you? Are you answering questions or repeating some sentences? If the answer is yes, you have found a good podcast to learn Spanish.
Podcasts to Learn Spanish:
Should you buy the materials that come with the podcast?
- If you are planning on following the episodes, my answer is a definite YES.
- I can assure you that if you read along while listening, you will learn more and, as an important side effect, you will help me to produce further podcasts.
- You can also download or ask for a free copy of one of the lessons. In this way, you will know for sure if the materials are helpful.
