Podcasts to Learn Spanish:
Why is it a good idea?
Here is a list of some of the greatest advantages:
- When using podcasts to learn Spanish, you decide when and where you are going to learn Spanish. Therefore, there are no limits, the lesson is always available. So, the podcast is your tool, and you use it whenever it is convenient for you.
- You can repeat, rewind, stop, or move forward at your convenience. In other words, you are in control.
- The audios are available for free. In addition, there is no advertisement. As a result, you can concentrate on the language.
- It is a lot more flexible than a course you have to pay for because there is no commitment. That is to say, if you do not like a podcast, you may stop listening to it anytime without having to give an explanation or losing money.
- Most of the podcasts have been produced by a native speaker. In other words, even if he or she is not a good teacher, you will be listening to a person who speaks Spanish well.
Podcasts to Learn Spanish:
- Check the number of episodes it offers. For example, if you see only 10 or 15, most likely it is a podcast that only tries to lure you into buying something.
- After you have listened to a couple of episodes, ask yourself: What have I learnt? Can I use what I have learnt?
- Make sure you are not wasting your time. To clarify, the person might be funny, but if he or she is not teaching anything practical, you are not learning much.
- Be active. For instance, ask yourself whether the podcast is challenging you or not. Are you answering questions or repeating some sentences? If the answer is yes, you have found a good podcast to learn Spanish. However, if the answer is no, perhaps it is time to look for something more productive.
Podcasts to Learn Spanish:
Should you buy the materials that come with the podcast?
- If you are planning on following the episodes of my podcast to learn Spanish, my answer is a definite YES. In other words, if you are serious about learning, it is a good idea to complement what you are hearing with some written exercises. Moreover, it is always a good idea to read some of the words you have not understood.
- Secondly, reading along with the teacher is also a very good option. However, I recommend that you do that only after you have listened without papers the first time. In short, let us not forget that we want the podcast to be as close as possible to a real conversation.
- You can also download or ask for a free copy of one of the lessons. As a result, you will know for sure if the materials are helpful. You are at the center of the process of learning. Consequently, only use materials that help you learn.
